The Assistant Director of Nurses - Staffing (ADON-Staffing) will assist in ensuring the provision of quality care that promotes the highest practicable physical, mental and psychological well-being of each resident as determined by resident assessments and individual plans of care. The ADON-Staffing must possess a current Texas nursing license.
The ADON-Staffing shall know the policies and procedures of the facility and will participate in implementing the quality assurance programs. Under the supervision of the Director of Nurses, the ADON-Staffing will assist in supervising nursing personnel by providing education and training
Conduct clinical orientation classes for nursing staff.
Supervise Preceptor program for charge nurses.
Conduct, in conjunction with the Director of Nursing, licensed and non-licensed orientation training classes.
Schedule mandatory in-services for general staff and nursing.
Maintain documentation of clinical employees’ education records.
Maintain in-service resources and updates Train Relief information.
Oversee and conduct certification classes in those facilities with nurse aide training programs as described in facilities approved course outline.
Conduct "as needed" in-services to staff as directed by D.O.N. or Administrator.
Monitor labor hours daily.
Participate in daily start-up and follows up with any incomplete items from
Assessment Nurse or Medicare Coordinator.
Participate in the on-call rotation.
Post daily staffing sheets and provide coverage for shifts, as needed.
Complete position sheets for staff for unit assignments.
Perform employee counseling, as needed.
Perform routine employee evaluations.
Assist DON in maintaining QA systems which may include, but not limited to: dietary recommendations, pharmacy recommendations, end of month orders, incidents and accidents, restraint reviews, weights, infection control, pressure ulcers, wounds, labs, glucose monitoring, pacemaker checks, employee health, resident health and immunizations.
Perform skill check-off with new employees; annually and as needed.
Attend and prepare for assigned QA and sub committee meetings.
Must possess a current Texas RN or Texas LVN licensure.
Previous experience in an ADON role is highly preferred
